Côteaux du Giennois blanc
Description
Our vineyards are located in the Southern part of the appellation, close to the border of Pouilly Fumé near Saint-Peré. We have two parcels covering 10,37 hectares, La Colmine and Les Ormousseaux. These parcels are strategically planted on a South-facing slope, ideally placed to benefit from the sunshine to achieve optimal ripeness. The soils are rich in clay and limestone, delivering fruit-forward wines with great length, texture and depth.
Our vineyards are farmed organically, a practice that not only cultivates the vines but also enriches the soil, ensuring the sustainability and health benefits of our wines. This commitment to organic farming is a testament to our dedication to producing high-quality, natural wines.
Winemaking
We press the whole bunches, separating the heart of the juice from the end of the press to preserve its natural acidity. After cold settling overnight, the hazy juice is transferred into various fermentation vessels the following morning. These vessels, including stainless steel tanks, 600-liter French Oak barrels, and 220-liter Wineglobes, allow us to create complex wines.
Tasting
Hints of floral notes, citrus, and stone fruit are on the nose. The palate follows with beautiful flavours of white fruit, such as quince and ripe pear, with a grapefruit pithiness. The wine has a refreshing mineral layer with a long, lingering, saline finish.
